Baptism

• One Parent must be a Member of Our Mother of Mercy and one godparent should be a practicing Catholic
• Parents and godparents must attend a baptismal class prior to baptism
• MUST PRESENT AN ORIGINAL COPY OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE AT TIME OF APPLICATION
• Baptism Class: Every Second Saturday beginning at 9:00 am in the Sr. Bldg., 1st Floor.

RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children) Program

• Children Catechumenate (ages 7 to 17)
• Parent(s) must be a member of Our Mother of Mercy
• Child/Youth must be enrolled and attend Sunday CCE classes on a weekly basis

OCIA (formerly RCIA) Order of Christian Initiation of Adults age 17 to adulthood

• For adults who want to prepare for Baptism, Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, or Confirmation and who desire to learn the theology (teachings) of the Church, in order to make an informed decision as to whether they wish to fully accept the Catholic Faith.
• Member of Our Mother of Mercy; contact the front office for more information or see a deacon
• Must attend classes once a month on second Saturday and Sunday; morning scripture reading study sessions after the 8:30am worship
