Our Mission

The mission of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Community is primarily, to follow, to live, and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in order to establish the region of God on earth – a community of truth and justice, of peace and love. The mission will be accomplished in three ways:
  1. Word and Sacrament (Liturgy)
  2. Witness – Example
  3. Service
Word and Sacrament-- We are committed to live a Sacramental life to the fullest, remembering that our first obligations are to the “Household of the Faith.” This means that we must begin to develop our own parish community first, by means of mutual trust, accountability for all members, and the fostering of sound, Christ-like relationships with the Father and with one another.

Witness –- Example. In a spirit of Evangelization we desire to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, not so much by what we say, but by what we do. “Words drag, example draws.”

Service -- We commit ourselves to live a life of social concerns for one another and for the surrounding community through continuing Christ education, social services for the poor, the aged, physically disabled, youth, young adults, etc. We desire to promote unity and peace in the family, the neighborhood and among churches, organizations and institutions, which are subject to disintegration. We desire to exert a Christian influence on the political and socio-economic dimensions of the community. And finally, we demand respect and reverence for the environment (human, geographic, cultural, etc.) in which we live.
